How StartCHURCH Bookkeeping Changed My Church

Pastors Van and Regina Smith heard God calling them to start something big. They had a vision for a life-giving, multicultural church people could call home. In 1998, they answered His call and started Solid Rock of Atlanta.

As years passed, Solid Rock continued to flourish. But the Smiths knew they were missing something.

“We knew we needed to find somebody who knew about ministry compliance," said Pastor Van. "It was a divine appointment! Somebody mentioned StartCHURCH, and it’s history after that.”

In 2009, we had the honor of helping Pastors Van and Regina with getting 501(c)(3) approval. And when StartCHURCH launched it's bookkeeping service in 2014, they were among our first clients. “It was like Christmas morning from the start! And it has been such a blessing,” said Pastor Van.

Theresa Pruett has also played a significant role in the journey with Solid Rock. For many years, she managed the church's finances. But she experienced a major shift when she started working with StartCHURCH. “Talk about peace!" Said Theresa. "To know there are so many people specializing in each area is amazing. At the end of the day, we don't have to worry about our finances, and that is truly a blessing.”
