The Top 10 Blogs of 2011

By Raul Rivera

A couple of weeks ago, we compiled a list of the most read blogs of 2011.  It was wonderful to see that the most read blogs had to do with the pastor protecting his/her spouse, followed by guarding the church's finances by avoiding certain mistakes, and then making sure that their ordination was legal.   In today's world of church planting, the majority of churches are non denominational and independent.  They have to take extra steps to make sure they properly get ordained as ministers of the gospel through the church they start.  Fifth on the list was the knowing the 250.00 rule.  This is the rule that requires donations given to the church that are over $250.00 to receive written substantiation from the church.  Eighth on the list was avoiding burnout.  Pastors know that the race is long.  Avoiding burnout is a must if they want to last more than five years.  Ninth was adding a for profit arm to the church.  We all know that it takes finances to run the ministry.  No matter how wonderful the services are, if the money dries up, it affects the ministry.  Churches today are at the threshold of entering a season of mature harvest.  We have been teaching them God's strategy for provision as was established in Scripture at the time that the children of Israel crossed into the Promise Land.  And finally, the tenth most-read blog in 2011 covered the important topic of compliance with tax law.  In 2011 many churches were concerned about the new 1099 law and how it would affect them.  Below is the complete list of the top ten blogs of 2011.
