It’s the People Who Make the Difference

By America Kimlinger

I’ve learned that what matters most in life and in ministry is people. People who show up. Every day. No matter what. The neighbor who checks in, the High School Counselor who believes in a student’s dreams. The kids who helped you dig your car out of the snow.

I’m constantly inspired by the people in churches themselves, the volunteers who greet visitors on Sunday morning, the youth leaders who invest in teenagers, listening to them (and sometimes blasting a new artist they’ve never heard at a volume that could make anyone deaf), showing up at their plays, their games, and their first day at work.

I am amazed by the kids who show up on Sundays, excited to learn, worship, and give you the biggest smile and a hug just because, and by the families who commit their time, energy, and resources to see their church thrive.

It’s the people who make the difference. It’s people who bring ministry to life. They take vision and turn it into action. They make every service, every program, and every outreach possible. Without people showing up, a church is just a building, but with them, it becomes a living, breathing body of Christ.

The StartCHURCH Team

And it’s also the people who make StartCHURCH special. When I think about StartCHURCH, I don’t first think about our services, our content, or systems. I think about our team. The people who take the time to explain things carefully. The specialists who understand ministry, not just the church and nonprofit law. The staff who stay present when a situation feels confusing or heavy. The team members who extend grace, lead with generosity, and assume the best in every interaction.

These are the people churches actually work with every day. They listen. They care. They pray. They explain complicated issues in plain language. They stay on the phone longer than expected because they know what’s at stake. They walk alongside pastors through seasons that don’t always come with clear answers. And they’re here for the long haul.

The Real Difference Has Always Been the Team

I’ve seen churches reach out to StartCHURCH at some of their most important moments: launching, growing, or navigating uncertainty or an unforeseen challenge. In those moments, what matters most is knowing someone who cares will answer the phone. It’s hearing, “You’re not alone, we’ll walk through this together. Let’s figure it out.” That’s what our people do best.

Our team brings consistency, care, and a steady presence. That’s what builds trust. That’s what allows pastors and leaders to focus on their calling, confident that someone is walking with them through the practical and sometimes difficult realities of ministry.

StartCHURCH was founded by two people who care deeply about the churches and ministries they serve, and they’ve always cared just as much about the people who will serve these churches and ministries. They must be steady, thoughtful, and deeply invested in the mission of serving churches with excellence.

Looking Ahead

I feel grateful. Grateful for a team that cares deeply about the Church. Grateful for the trust churches, ministries, and partners place in us. Grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside people who show up faithfully, day after day, for leaders, volunteers, kids, and every part of the church family.

Because at the end of the day, our greatest strength is the people. The people who show up with hearts ready to serve and at StartCHURCH, that’s exactly what our team does.
